Twitter Fiesta with Nakano Rice Vinegars!

So, you all know I’m moving back to D.C. (and a paying a loooong visit to a fanciful city on the other side of the world) in about 48 hours. We’ve all moved several times  and know the massive amount of stress that piles on. Well, that’s exactly where I am. I’ve come to realize I’m a pack rat. Not a hoarder, rather a collector of all things necessary.

In all this madness, I’m making some time to cook decent food (though I’ve broken down and had some pizza, ice cream, popcorn and some amazing 9 spice rum Cuba Libre’s) so that my body can stay in tact and function like I need it to. For me, that’s means a lot of arroz! Mucho, mucho arroz. Good jasmine rice, too.

With that rice, I enjoy some pollo con vegetales and maybe some  sweet fried plantain, but that’s already starting to cross the line of not so healthy moving food. In any case, the folks over at Nakano, known for their affordable rice vinegars have some really flavor vinegars I’ve used in my lifetime to make stir fry’s, sauces, and even arroz. My fave to date has been the Roasted Garlic one. So, so tasty with salmon! They’re especially good on cold pasta salads which are a staple in summer food repertoire. It’s like a literal splash of yum and flavor in your mouth! I can’t wait to taste some of the other ones. Will be a party in my skillet, for sure. My pans needs some excitement these days…

So, lucky me when they and Latina Mom Bloggers (no, no, I’m not a Mami, yet!) invited me to co-host a Twitter party where we’ll be chatting up all things vinegar and how to use them with different foods.

So, lovelies, join me in just a few days, on June 5th, for a delicious Twitter party, or fiesta con comida virtual  and join in the conversation. I’ll be sharing some recipes and unique ideas on how to use all the different vinegars. Trust me, there’s a plethora of flavor combo’s you can create and really enjoy. You know, vinagre is not good for just slimming down (I have an abuelita that swigs by the shot b/c it’s good for burning fat cells)! Though, consuming it for such purposes wouldn’t be such a bad idea.

  1. I haven’t used their vinegars in a long time but I remember liking one particular flavor. I just might get on Twitter to hear some ideas.
