I’m a baby boomer’s child but have always said I would have loved to be a part of the 20s, 40s, and 60s. Those time periods embody such tangible and artistic characteristics that flow with my style. Needless to say men acted like gentlemen and tipped hats upon a lady’s entrance, and women curtsied when a tryst called for it. And the fashion… well, we all know the bouffant hairdo, the umbrella dresses of the 20s and the the mini skirts and shift dresses of the 60s. My mom was one fly chica in the 60s with her Mod dresses and waist long hair.
In honor of the wildly popular TV series, Mad Men, which admittedly, I’ve not seen yet, premier cosmetic house, Estée Lauder put out a sexy, chic lip and cheek collection that mirrors the moda and look of the period. The rouge duo is lovely and bold enough to carry you through the day. It doesn’t hurt that both come in keepsake gold sleeves to protect the pretty metal casing. And the mirror? Who does that anymore! I love it.
To pair up my new red blush and lip color, my vintage lemony yellow lace dress, accordingly from the 60s, will go perfectly with it. The look will put me right on set, don’t you think! I’ve had it for about 7 years and have yet to find that perfect event to wear it to. I’m thinking it’s time to just rock it. Too pretty to just keep it having on my garment rack!
